EVENEMENT - Conference MarCoastEcos2012 - 25 au 28 avril 2012 - Tirana, Albanie

Du 25 au 28 Avril 2012 se tiendra la Conférence internationale sur les Ecosystèmes Marins et Côtiers (MarCoastEcos2012) dans la ville de Tirana, Albanie.

L'objectif général de cette conférence est de constituer une plate-forme internationale dédiée à la connaissance scientifique dans le domaine de la conservation durable et de la gestion des écosystèmes marins et côtiers. De nombreux acteurs sont conviés autour d’une multitude de thématiques, dans le but de favoriser les croisements interdisciplinaires.

From 25^th to 28^th april 2012, the International Conference on Marine and Coastal Ecosystems (MarCoastEcos2012) will takes place in city of Tirana, Albania.

The overall aim of the conference is to provide an international platform of a high professional quality, in order to present, discuss and disseminate scientific findings pertaining to the sustainable conservation and integrated management of marine and coastal ecosystems. MarCoastEcos2012, through a high diversity of topics, encourages a large participation to maximize the interdisciplinary linkages.

EVENEMENT - EVENT - Les tables rondes de la protection du littoral - 12 au 15 Mars 2012 / Round-tables conferences for coastal protection - 12th to 15th of March 2012.

A l’occasion du 6^ème Forum Mondial de l’Eau, La Délégation internationale du Conservatoire du littoral organise, du 12 au 15 mars 2012 à Marseille, 4 soirées « Tables rondes de la protection du littoral : Eau, espace de nature », en événement parallèle au Forum.

Ces tables rondes seront l’occasion de se réunir pour échanger, débattre, et se rappeler que la gestion de l’eau concerne également la préservation des espaces naturels littoraux.

Lors de la soirée du 13 Mars, l’Initiative PIM présentera son actualité et les actions qu’elle mène en faveur de la conservation des petites îles de Méditerranée.

D’autres thématiques seront abordées toute la semaine, comme la protection du littoral marseillais animé par la Ville de Marseille, la valorisation et préservation des zones humides par le Conservatoire du littoral PACA, et enfin la Méditerranée côté mer avec l’intervention de l’association MedPAN.

At the occasion of the 6th World Water Forum, the International Délégation of the Conservatoire du littoral organize, from the 12th to 15th of March 2012 in Marseille, during evenings, 4 “round-tables conferences about coastal protection: Water, space of nature”, as side-events of the Forum.

These round-tables will be the occasion to meet, to exchange and to discuss, in order to remember that the challenges linked to water management also deals with the conservation of natural coastal areas.

On the 13^th of March evening, the PIM initiative will present its latest news and actions leaded in favor of Mediterranean small islands conservation.

Other themes will be treated all of the week, such as the protection of Marseille seashores by the Municipality of Marseille, the promotion and preservation of wetlands in Provence region by the Delegation PACA of the Conservatoire du littoral, and to finish the Mediterranean in its marine side, with MedPAN.

If you want to participate to the conferences, you can join us from Monday 12th to Tuesday 15th March 2012, from 6.30pm to 9.00pm, at Galerie Montgrand, 41 rue Montgrand in Marseille.

Du 30 janvier au 4 février derniers, quelques jours à peine avant la grande vague de froid qui s’est abattue sur la Tunisie, une mission d’échange sur le recensement d’oiseaux aquatiques a pu se tenir dans le Cap Bon. From January 30th till February 4th of this year, a few days hardly before the big cold spell in Tunisia, a mission of exchange on the inventory of water birds was held in the Cap Bon. Du 17 au 20 janvier 2012 ont eu lieu les ateliers régionaux méditerranéens pour la biodiversité. Accueilli par la ville de Montpellier, cet évènement a pour but de renforcer la collaboration entre des administrations locales et nationales et favoriser la coopération régionale dans le Bassin méditerranéen, notamment pour encourager la mise en œuvre du Plan Stratégique de la Biodiversité 2011-2020 dans la région. From 17th to 20th january 2012, city of Montpellier welcomed the regional workshops of Mediterranean sea and biodiversity, in the aim of reinforce local and national collaborations to respect the Strategic Plan for Biodiversity for the region. HERE the official declaration of this event.

NEWSLETTER - Le premier numero de la newsletter MedMPAnet - First issue of MedMPAnet newsletter

MedMPAnet presents the first issue of its newsletter, dedicated to Marine Protected Areas (MPAs) Development in Montenegro, Libya, Kuriat Islands in Tunisia (plus a lot of MPA’s news).

The MedMPAnet project is part of the MedPartnership GEF full size project “Strategic Partnership for the Mediterranean Sea Large Ecosystem” led by UNEP/MAP. The objective of the MedPartnership project is to leverage reforms and investments to address marine and coastal biodiversity conservation priorities for the Mediterranean.

MedMPAnet présente le premier numéro de sa newsletter, dédiée au developpement des aires marines protégées dans le Montenegro, la Libye, les îles Kuriat en Tunisie (plus de nombreuses informations sur l’actualité MPA).

Le projet MedMPAnet fait partie du projet FEM MedPartnership, « Partenariat Stratégique pour le Grand Ecosystème Marin de la Méditerranée » piloté par le PNUE/PAM. L’objectif de ce projet est de faire évoluer les réformes institutionnelles et légales et d’obtenir les investissements nécessaires pour répondre aux priorités de conservation de la biodiversité marine et côtière en Méditerranée.

EVENEMENT/EVENT - Assises Méditerranéennes des Petites Iles 2012 - Mediterranean Small Islands Meeting 2012

Les prochaines Assises Méditerranéennes des Petites Iles se tiendront du 10 au 13 avril 2012, à Bizerte en Tunisie, sous le thème « Conservation et Développement Durable dans les petites îles de Méditerranée ».

The next Mediterranean Small Islands Meeting will take place in Bizerte, in Tunisia, from 10th to 13th of April 2012, about the issue of “Conservation and sustainable development in the Mediterranean small islands”.
